Peer Review Process
All submitted manuscripts will be initially reviewed by the journal editor. The editor will determine whether the manuscript is consistent with the focus and scope of the journal and whether it is suitable for peer review. This initial assessment usually takes approximately one week.
Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening will be assigned to at least one peer reviewer for further evaluation. Based on the reviewers' comments and recommendations, the editor will make an editorial decision. There are three possible editorial decisions: (1) accept the manuscript, (2) request revisions and resubmission, or (3) reject the manuscript.
The peer review process generally takes approximately 4–6 weeks. The time required to reach a final decision depends on several factors, including the number of review rounds, the reviewers' response time, and the authors' responsiveness to revision requests. In general, the overall period from manuscript submission to the final editorial decision is approximately 2–4 months.
The total time required for publication depends, in addition to the factors mentioned above, on the date of submission, the journal's publication schedule, the authors' compliance with the journal's publication guidelines, and other editorial considerations. Manuscripts that have completed the review process and are accepted for publication are generally published in the Journal of Indonesian Nutrition Science within approximately 2–4 months, subject to the journal's publication schedule and editorial process.
