Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

Manuscripts may be submitted in the form of original research articles, review articles, or case reports. Manuscripts must be original and have not been previously published elsewhere. Manuscripts may be written in either Indonesian or English. Each manuscript should be a maximum of 10 pages, including tables and figures (photographs, charts, maps, graphs, histograms, sketches, or diagrams). Manuscripts should be submitted to the editorial office in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

AUTHOR GUIDELINES FOR JURNAL ILMU KESEHATAN INDONESIA (JIKSI)

  1. Manuscripts must be typed on A4-size paper (21 × 29.7 cm), using Times New Roman font, 11 pt, with single line spacing and justified alignment. The manuscript should be formatted in a single column with margins of 3 cm on the top, bottom, left, and right. The manuscript must contain a minimum of 7 pages and a maximum of 10 pages.
  2. The manuscript must follow a clear and systematic structure with appropriate section headings. Research articles should be organized as follows: Title; authors' names and institutional affiliations; abstract and keywords; Introduction; Methods; Results and Discussion; Conclusion; and References.
  3. Review articles should be organized as follows: Title; authors' names and institutional affiliations; abstract and keywords; Introduction; Discussion; Conclusion; and References.
  4. Case reports should be organized as follows: Title; authors' names and institutional affiliations; Introduction; Case Report; Discussion; Conclusion; and References.
  5. The article title should use title case, with a font size of 14 pt and bold formatting. The title should contain a maximum of 12 words in Indonesian, except in certain circumstances, or a maximum of 10 words in English.
  6. Authors' names should be written without academic or professional degrees and should be followed by the authors' institutional affiliations and addresses below the title. If the manuscript is written by a team, all authors' names must be listed, with a maximum of 5 authors. If there are more than 5 authors, the additional authors may be represented by "et al." The first-listed author is considered the principal author and must provide a corresponding address and/or email address.
  7. The abstract and keywords must be provided in two languages, Indonesian and English. The abstract should contain a maximum of 200 words, while 3–5 keywords or keyword phrases should be provided. The abstract should be written in single spacing using 10 pt font, without subheadings, and should at minimum include the purpose, methods, and results of the study.
  8. The Introduction should explain the background and rationale of the study, research context, relevant literature review, and research objectives. The Introduction should be written without subheadings and presented in paragraphs, comprising approximately 15–20% of the total length of the article.
  9. The Methods section should describe the research design, data sources, data collection techniques, and data analysis procedures. This section should comprise approximately 10–15% of the total length of the article.
  10. The Results section should present the findings and analysis of the study. Each research finding should be appropriately discussed. The Discussion should explain the findings and compare them with relevant theories presented in the literature review and/or with findings from similar studies. The Results and Discussion sections should comprise approximately 40–60% of the total length of the article.
    If tables or figures are included, each table or figure must have a concise title. Table titles should be placed above the table, while explanatory notes, including definitions of non-standard abbreviations, should be placed below the table. Tables should use 10 pt font with single line spacing.
  11. The Conclusion should present the main findings and key points derived from the discussion and should be written in paragraph form.
  12. The References section should include only sources cited in the manuscript, and all sources cited in the manuscript must be included in the reference list. References should primarily consist of sources published within the last 10 years, with at least 60% derived from research articles published in scientific journals or published research reports, including undergraduate theses, master's theses, and doctoral dissertations. The reference list should be formatted using 11 pt font.
  13. References and citations must follow the APA (American Psychological Association) Style.
